How it all started....
Raven Metals LLC was created out of pure grilling passion. When our founder was
given a small bullet style smoker, smoking was a foreign concept. After trying
multiple times to get results from this “cheap” smoker- he knew there must be a
better way. Time after time, he tried to impress his foodie wife with his new skill.
Determined to make something better, our founder used his fabricating and
welding skills to start making a smoker that was easy to use, cooked beautifully,
and created an overall enjoyable grilling experience. It took many tries but a
design was finally achieved! In doing so, his smoker not only impressed his wife,
but neighbors, friends, and family. He soon started taking orders and people
started to see the quality and design advantages of his new grills and smokers.
Named in honor of the founder's family name, Raven Metals was born. Officially
started in 2019, Raven Metals quickly expanded and relocated to Mokena, Illinois,
located south of Chicago. Our founder also pursued his other passion of teaching
the next generation trade skills. Teaching Woodshop part-time at a local private
high school, he incorporated paths for students interested in welding to work at
Raven Metals and expand their skills. Being a part of the community comes
natural to everything we do at Raven Metals, including sponsoring a minor league
baseball team, our local Little League teams, and local schools. Being a part of
our community is important to our identity.
